Lori -
The database part is easy. Already done. Sitting on
http://sneezy.mika.com/clarinet already.

The hard part is the data. You send it to me, I'll see
that it's totally cross-indexed & searchable. That part
takes me a few seconds.

I've spent now - hmmm - about 600 hours over the last 8
months putting together the composition database (that's
about 15 minutes an entry - it takes about that long per
entry on the average for research, sending mail to a
contemporary composer for more pieces, getting birth years,
adding comments, etc.). I figure another 150-200 hours
that Georgiana McReynolds & Takashi Kawai have put in.
I figure that in another 500-600 hours I'll take a little
break (I have a few ideas on browsing through compositions
that I'm going to implement).

So, getting all that data may be a bit more time than
you're ready to spend - and researching who *has* been in
major orchestras may be even harder that locating living
composers :)

But - you do the work, and you'll get the glory of
adding to general clarinet knowledge.
