Tonya,

You might try spending some time improvising with arpeggios (or whatever
technical aspect is giving you problems). At first, playing slowly and
concentrating on the aural effect of different inversions, registers,
directions etc. This way you get lots of practice without the psychological
obstacle that the more we worry about a technique, the more elusive it seems to
become! I find this approach changes my reactions when I meet the technique in
context. Perhaps, it might work for you.
