For me, the clarinetist who inspired me most was soloist and bandleader
Benny Goodman. I had started playing the clarinet in sixth grade and was
disappointed that I had no role model to look up to. Then my band
teacher showed us the movie "The Benny Goodman Story" and I was inspired.
"In the Mood" is still my all time favorite jazz song.
But my favorite moment was when I actually played a solo myself and found
it beautiful.
