This may sound strange, but when I was in 6th grade I really didn't know a=

Oboe from a Clarinet, much less what a Flute was.... Anyway, I took the
aural test and when I was asked which instrument I wanted to play I pictur=
ed a
Flute and said "Clarinet". When the teacher took out a clarinet I thought =
it
was the ugliest thing and that it wasn't that silver thing I was thinking =
of.

A few years later I asked my parents if they would buy me a Flute because =
that
was the instrument I wanted to play. They brought me the flute but said I
couldn't quit clarinet because I started and I'm not allowed quit. So to t=
his
day each time I get to play Flute ( I love playing shows) I really enjoy
myself ( or try to). But don't get me wrong I LOVE the Clarinet.

P.S. that same year I asked for the Flute was my first NYSSMA solo competi=
tion.
I played the Mozart ( level 6 ) and got an A+. So it made a lot of sense t=
o
stick with Clarinet........
