Just a few days ago I happened to pick up a catalog from Boosey & Hawkes
Musical Instruments, Inc., who now own Buffet as well as Schreiber
bassoons, Keilwerth saxophones, Besson brasses, and others. There are 27
different models of Buffet soprano clarinets listed, in the keys of A, Bb,
C, D and Eb. Just to confuse things further, they have recently changed
the model numbers or catalog numbers of almost every woodwind instrument
in the catalog.

The Buffet soprano clarinets range from the B-12 with a list price of $630
to the Elite in A for $5,982. They lines they list include the Elite,
Prestige R-13, R-13, R-13 Green Line, RC, the E series, and the B-12.
According to the prices listed, the E-13 is an intermediate instrument,
listing for $2,040. (The standard R-13 lists for $2,980.) The catalog
does not describe the characteristics of either instrument. One
interesting thing is that the E-13 has silver plated keys, while the R-13
has nickel plated keys. There is no mention of any model called the S-1.
Perhaps it is an older model, no longer being produced.

I'm not sure this helps answer your question, but that is what their
catalog says.
