Just my 2 cents- I happen to like the Mercadante Bb concerto- its a light
diversion and very pleasant to play. Did you know he also wrote an Eb
concerto?- It too is very pleasant. Perhaps they are not as deep or moving
as the Spohr or Weber concertos, but I would rather have them than see them
disappear from the repertoire. PS: The Bb concerto is recorded on TUDOR
728 CD and on ICN POLYART ICN 008 CD, and the Eb concerto is recorded on ICN
POLYART ICN 008 CD. The Bb concerto had previously been recorded on LP's,
ITALIA ITL 70029 LP and CLAVES D 813 LP.
