Welcome to the list!!

I think that barrel length might be relative to intonation of the
instrument. People may get a longer barrel so they don't have to pull
out really far, or a short one because the instrument tends to be flat.
There is definitely a difference in barrels. I have an AccuBore, and
that company sells a variety. I had to make sure and get the right kind
for my instrument, etc, etc, so I think there is some difference.
