Subj: question to all music educators

I'm doing a group project for one of my summer school corses and
it is about the past, present and future of art education. My part
is to talk about possible changes in the future. What I really need
is perspectives from people in the field of what they expect. I would
be interested in either clarinet specific or changes in music in
general. What role do you see computers playing. I have heard of the
Ohio State research trying to make a computer analize a clarinet sound
then make suggestions on possible problems and solutions to these problems.
The computer compairs the sound it hears from the spectrograph of a good
(professional) clarinet tone and has a database of problems, solutions,
and what sound these problems make. It is very experimental but an
interesting project. Can someone on here give me more insight to this
project??? I am going to be going into the music education field
when I graduate and I am very interested in different perspectives
of the future of this field. Feel free to either e-mail the list if
anybody else is interested or e-mailing me privately. Thank you.
