This has happened to me occasionally. It's the damage of one or a couple of
the papillae of the tongue. If it's on the tip of your tongue, it's probably
from striking the reed. One papilla may have been a bit rough and caught on
the tip of the reed. It's kind of alarming at first when you see blood on
your reed, but it's not a serious.
