I don't know if this has been said or not (haven't gotten through
all of my messages) but can you imagine how much this would dry out the
wood. The metal rings contract faster than wood so I don't see how it
would crack within 5 minutes. I think replacing a couple pads is going
to be cheaper than a new clarinet. Geeeesh.

P.S. If this has any bases in reality, tell me because I'm not an
expert here by any means, but this is one of the more fur brained ideas
I've heard in a long time.
