Mr. Rice is still the curator. Incidentally, I would highly
recommend that any of the subscribers on this list in the
Southern CA area check out this museum. It's small, but
its collection of Baroque and Classical-era clarinets is
superb, and I have found Mr. Rice to be extremely
knowlegable and personable. Upon learning that I was a
clarinetist, he personally showed me the various clarinets
in the museum, describing them at length, and we had a very
lengthy and pleasant conversation about the clarinet.

I regret to say that I don't know the museum's hours, but the main
number for the Claremont Colleges is (909) 621-8000, and I'm
certain they would have that information. They would probably also
be able to provide callers with directions, though as a Claremont
Colleges
student I can definitely give competent directions of my own, and anyone
who
would like help getting there is more than welcome to e-mail me
privately.
