Dear Dee,

I just did that last experiment myself. For practical purposes due to
marching band, I bought a Yamaha plastic clarinet. I really wanted to
improve my sound but I can't find a good inexpensive wooden clarinet. So
I bought a generic version of the Vandoren 45 mouthpiece. I've always
had a good sound, but I was really impressed with my tone's improvement
the minute I started playing it. Even my friends that don't have musical
talent have noticed a good difference. As an added bonus, as I have
adjusted to my new mouthpiece my embouchure got better, too.

BTW, if anyone does have a good wooden clarinet for sale, I'm still
interested.
