Fred,

As I recall.. the horn played with lots of volume and
projection..probably due to the metal sleeve. It had a reasonably
dark( forgive me this descriptive word) tone, but a little rattlely(sp)
near the bottom. The scale was far from uniform but within the range to
lip it.
The horn held up well over the years. When I sold the horn w/ good pads
and in fine playing condition it went for $125.
I've since played on the horn a few times and it's not as clear sounding
as my 1928 Buffet, but then the Buffet just doesn't have the pure volume
of the Preufer. All in all well worth $100 IMHO.
