If the ligature is slipping on the entire mouthpiece, as opposed to just
the reed slipping within it, then the easiest thing to do is to put a
piece of gaffer's tape on the back of the mouthpiece (where the screws
are on the inverted ligature that you are using). Gaffer's tape is what
lighting people use in theaters. It can probably be found elsewhere, but
I never had to look any farther, as I worked at a theater for many years.
It's like duct tape, only the non-sticky side of it is made of fabric,
rather than that grey stuff, so it is much more frictive (probably not a
real word, but you get my point). Caution: some are of the opinion that
using the tape will change your sound. I myself was too inexperienced a
player back when I had to use it to be able to tell the difference.
