Did you mean desert? I won't go disparaging Lubbock, but it
really is pretty much in the midst of nowhere.

Having lived in both Lubbock (5 years), Ft. Worth (3 years), and El Paso (3
years), I can say that Lubbock is a veritable garden spot compared to El
Paso. It is a lovely place and I would prefer Lubbock over any place I've
lived in Texas. Speaking of being in the middle of nowhere, from El Paso it
is 165 miles at the least to another town in any direction (except Las
Cruces-almost a suburb of El Paso, or vice versa?). Yawn... Hope the clinic
goes well. Wish I could be there....
