Considering the speed of sound in metal, the harmonic of the
plating layers should be much, MUCH too high. Back of the envlope says
240000 Hz. (c@-----.05in) You may get effects at 1/4 of
this freq. but no lower. Perhaps it effects how the reed couples to the
mouthpiece. Like is there a charastic air or water layer in there?
