While we are on the topic of ligatures I have a question for you. My
teacher and I have not yet been able to explain this one and maybe one of
you can.

I am playing on an R-13 with a B45 mouthpiece and a bonade inverted
ligature. The problem is that the ligature won't hold the reeds on the
mouthpiece securely (I am using Vandoren V12's). I can tighten it up and
play for a couple of minutes before the reed is freely moving around again
as if I hadn't just tightened it. The problem seems to be fixed when I put
a piece of tape on the reed but that is somewhat of a pain especially if you
don't have tape readily available.

any sugestions would be appreciated
