REALLY?! Let us know, do, if you can actually find it.

It was actually Dan who doesn't like the adjective. He's posted often
(over the long term) about how, in his experience, it means different
things to different people.

For myself, I was quite happy with what Steve had written: I matched
the adjective with what I know of the sound of the C clarinet (which
was what he was originally complaining about). When I listen to the C
clarinet, it's mostly in my clarinet choir, where it's commonly used
to play oboe parts in arrangements: for this purpose, its <whatever>
quality is actually quite appropriate.

Nevertheless, if _I_ win the lottery, the C clarinet is not on the top
of my list of potential purchases ... ;-)
