You can buy your reeds much cheaper through the mail; about $9 for a box of
Zonda and $14-16 for VanDoren V-12, and you can get discounts on larger
orders. So unless you shop at your local store for reasons of loyalty, or
???, try a mail-order woodwind supplier. Or even ask the store for a
discount. My local music store gives me a 20% teacher discount off their
already discounted prices which brings the price of a box of V-12's to $16.
But depending on the state you live in, you often won't pay sales tax on a
mail order.
