How long have you been playing?

What type of reed do you use (hardness and make), and what type of
mouthpiece?

Sounds like your reed is too hard. Or you may be practicing in a really dead
sound absorbent area (lots of carpeting?). Have you noticed the same in a
room with hard floors?
