Jay--

There is at least one duet book for this combination (my daughter used it
in high school), but I'm not sure of its title. If I had your question,
I'd call Eble Music at 319/338-0313, FAX 319/338-0108, and put the question
to them. The only such duet I have is Carter's Esprit Rude/Esprit Doux,
which is beyond my ability -- I got it to follow the recording. I also
have As It fell Upon A Day, for fl, cl & soprano, by Copland. Also check
the fl/cl duets by the following composers listed in Thurston, Clarinet
Technique, 4th ed. (1985,Oxford UP), at pp. 85-93: Bavicchi, Bennett,
Brown, Cartan, Cranmer, Crosse, Gould, Hedwall, Heussenstamm, Jolivet,
Krenek, Kubik, Kupferman, Linn, Michalsky, Schwarz, Smith (W.O.), Stevens,
and Szalowski. I don't know whether any of these are worthwhile (maybe
others on the list can comment), but I'd be especially curious about the
Smith. Eble might be able to give you some idea of their difficulty. Good
luck!

While I'm at it, let me put in a plug for the Thurston book's music list,
by Georgina Dobree. Anyone who has access to this book (I'm not sure if
it's still in print) should consult it when he/she has a question of this
sort.

Can anyone recommend some good clarinet and flute duets? Any help here
would
be greatly appreciated. Thanks(in advance).
