I am not a clarinet player but I do play sax. I am self taught and I
always have "Questions" to ask my wife, who is an excellent clarinetist
in my mind. We have come to the conclusion, in all aspects of life, that
the only "stupid/dumb questions are the ones NEVER asked". So be patient
with those of us that have not gained all the answers yet.

Also you need to be aware that everyone was a beginner once and had no
idea where to start looking for information. They have to ask more
knowlegdeable people their "dumb" questions to even locate a reference.
Here in the wilds of South Dakota, libraries in this area have almost
nothing on music let alone a specialty like the clarinet, even on
interlibrary loan. I have to mail order everything. I certainly cannot
afford to buy all the standard references either. Those of you in the
larger cities don't know how very fortunate you are to have access to
all that material. Of course you do have to pay the price of crowded
cities, high crime, and all the other reasons that I prefer the wilds of
South Dakota.
