Subj: Piccolo Clarinets in high Bb and high A

Some time ago I posted that Orsi of Milan still make piccolo octave
clarinets in high Bb and high A.
The piccolo clarinets in high A and high Bb are made of wood and they cost
5,000,000 lire for the A and 4,000,000 lire for the Bb (divide by c.1700 to
convert to dollars).

P.S. I have no commercial interest in Orsi of Italy. I am posting this for
those who are either interested in all including the rarer members of the
clarinet family or for those looking to add an unusual instrument to their
collections. After all, it is quite normal to see sopranino saxophones,
piccolos and even oboe-musettes these days. No doubt the piccolo clarinet
could add something to a clarinet choir, a new timbre for the multi-clarinet
performer, or a strong high voice to a band. They might also have a small
enough hand and finger stretch for very young players.
