I forgot about this, but there is also scientific evidence
suggesting that zinc lozenges can reduce the intensity
and duration of a cold - even if taken after the cold has already
"blossomed". This got a lot of press over the winter and the
scientific evidence is better than most such claims ever get
(I read the original paper when it came out and the science
is reasonable). Most grocery stores and pharmacies stock
some variety of the lozenge for adults now.
