If you have access to a good instrument store with a knowledgeable
proprietor, ask his assistance. Unless you need something for special
purposes, a mouthpiece with a "medium lay" and "medium tip opening" is
good for all around playing. It has been a long time since I read up on
mouthpieces so I can really give you numbers. I'll have to do some
research myself the next time I'm in the market for a mouthpiece.
