There's the earlier statement about this particular recording that I am
responding to. No matter if the piece is written for someone , "te dah dah
dah".... it doesn't make his/her performance that much more valid or THE
way the piece should be played or whatever . I am sorry ( Mr Goodman....
playing jazz at the pearly gates........ ) but that performance was not
inspirational at all. There's so much more to the Copland than what this
recording give you. The piece is so absolutely beautiful and fun. I
listened to a few recordings before my recital and I was shocked and a
little embarrassed to hear this recording. BG is a great jazz player and a
good musician but this recording needed some more work.
