Lori,
What presumption! How can you attribute the sum total of the
clarinet world of the entire 18th and 19th centuries to those respective
clarinetists???? And how on earth can you say that the 20th century is so
monolithic as to be tied to one clarinetist? A more intelligent way to put
this question would be: ...________________ is to <Corigoiano>, for
example, in which case the blank would be Drucker. In the case of Shulamit
Ran, the clarinetist would probably be Laura Flax.
