I also agree that its Benny Goodman, and while many composers wrote for
him, I don't always like his classical style. Perhaps that is why this
person said "embarrased" (or not)? I have a recording with BG doing the
Beethoven Trio, and the Brahms Trio and Quintet, and not only is the
recording very unflattering, his sound is a bit out of control. Now don't
get me wrong his Copland , etc. is great. I definitely feel that he has a
specific area of repetoire as Dan said, and his influence of modern
Clarinet repetoire has been wonderful for the clarinet.
well anyway, that is my opinion. . .you can yell at me if you want!;)
