Dear Prof. Galvan,

I know this reply does not answer your question directly, but I
believe there might be something here of interest to your Mr. Fonder,
especially if he is interested in Hungarian band music.

A few years ago, Prof. David Whitwell of the California State
University at Northridge was a guest conductor with the Caltech Concert Band
and brought some new music he had recently acquired on his travels through
Europe. One of the compositions we performed had extensive clarinet solos
and was entitled "Music from Szek (sp?)" by Laszlo Gulyas. I remember
playing the Solo Clarinet part, which was a bear -- a lot of florid gypsy
passages that were beautiful but difficult to execute.

My guess is that Prof. Whitwell can help Mr. Fonder locate
the Istvan Bogar composition and also the Gulyas, if he is interested. I
hope this information helps.
