I recently seem to be playing sharp on my clarinet such that I have to pull
way out to get in tune with the band.
Can anyone give me some tips as to what is happening? Is the clarinet
changing? Is it the reed (Vandoren #3)? Perhaps the weather??
Thanks for any help, Benedict (Arlesheim, Switzerland)

It has happened to me in the past for all the reasons you state! If the
clarinet bore diameter increases the instrument goes sharp. If the vamp on
your reed is short you go sharp (compare Vandoren White Master to Vandoren
V12). If your orchestra tunes to A440 (I doubt it from what I hear on this
list) try one of the Vandoren 13 series that definitely tune lower (why this
would change for you I couldn't say unless your embouchure has changed!).
