We have always used Dill's pipe cleaners for the low E/B key. You simply
wrap the pipe cleaner around the key & instrument twisting the ends so it
is a firm hold - then when you go to play simply slip the band over the
post. When you're finished playing, hold the key down and slip the band
back over the post to hold the key down. I leave mine on all the time to
keep the lower joint action secure and help the pad stay seated.
This information is compliments of John Snyder, a repairman in Knoxville.

Good Luck!
