Dan, when I do a clarinet repad I wash the instrument body thoroughly with
Murphy's Oil Soap and warm water. Clean the tone holes with a small brush.
Dry it thoroughly and coat liberaly with bore oil inside and out. Let it
sit for a few hours and wipe the excess oil from the body. It should be
ready to reinstall the keys if you want to. I doubt the repairperson you
use will show much appreciation for taking the instrument apart and
cleaning it. You will most likely be charged full price for the repad.
