I very much appreciate your thoughtful comments, Michelle. But I
want to clarify that I never said something that you said I did.

I did not assert that different clarinets and/or different keys
were being used because they sounded differently or created
different moods or produced any psychological effect. My
specific argument is that there was a physical problem for
sharp keys that was not present in flat keys; i.e., it was harder
to play sharp keys for a very precise and well-defined reason.

What I was asking for was argument against my suggested well-
defined reason.

That notwithstanding, I am grateful that you took the time to
share your thoughts with me on this very complicated and only
partly understandable phenomenon.
