I have passed on some of the concerns of the list about the survey to Dr.
Kris Chesky, Research Assistant Professor at UNT, who is sponsoring the
project. He writes:

"The problem is that the survey does not like to run on older versions of
windows based PCs. It works fine on Macs or PCs with windows 95. It
might help to encourage folks to use an updated computer if possible. We
do plan on rebooting the survey soon with some new software that we just
got - it should take care of the problem."

I hope this helps answer some of the questions out there. Personally, I
took the survey from my Power Mac at home and had no problem.

There have been over 1,000 responses to the survey so far, but
unfortunately only about 4% have been from clarinetists. We will begin
analyzing the data within the next few months, and the more responses we
get, the more reliable the results. The information will be made
available to the clarinet playing community in general, and will hopefully
benefit us all.
