I wouldn't leave out your Clarinet, as you will get a lot of dust in the
keys. Also, no humidity in the winter.

Rafe,

I would go about this cautiously. I did what you are doing for a
short time, but quit because I noticed that come of the joints were
getting loose, especially the bell joint, which on my clarinet is
tapered. Leaving the clarinet assembled for long periods compresses
the joint corks.

Am I shortening the life of my tenon corks by keeping my instrument
assembled? For the last six months or so, after playing I've taken to
swabbing, drying the joints, and air-drying the pieces for something
like an hour, then putting the horn back together and planting it on
the K&M stand so it's "ready" the next day. My tenon corks needed
replacing even before I started doing this -- but is there any reason
I shouldn't be?
