In response to the marching band issue I know that without being in a
marching band these past two years, I would not have learned as much about
myself as a person as I did. I'm a sophomore in high school and I was the
clarinet section leader this year. Our marching band lost a lot of people
throughout the year, so we had to overcome that. In our program we have
examples every day of how to use so many valuable lifeskills such as:
leadership, dedication, hard work, pride, compromise, cooperation,
friendship, commitment, living with mistakes, taking advice, giving
suggestions and many others. Marching band is not all about music. You
could not get as much expierence in these areas in a concert setting because
you do not have to interact with people as much, and solve as many problems.
