Gary,

There are several types available for the alto. I know cause I just bought
one for my basset horn. They have one style, rather heavy with internal
sliding plates and another style just one piece of soft plastic or rubber
like material. Some types are rated "dark" some "light". You might check
the Woodwind catalog, although International Music should have as well.
I'm now using Bonade on all 3 of my clarinets.
