Somebody on the list recently posted a quote about Einstein
conceiving his theory of relativity based on musical concepts.
I interviewed yesterday with an engineering consulting firm
and decided to make reference to this quote while describing
my musical background to the interview team -- thinking maybe
they would make the subconscious connection between my talents
and their management needs. I'm not an engineer, but the
tactic worked, based on the reactions I received. I think it
helped that two of the engineers were former clarinetists
themselves, and the managing consultant was lamenting his
son's recent decision to discontinue is clarinet studies.
My thanks to whoever posted that quote. I don't know if
I got the position yet, but every little bit helps! :)
