I believe all of these recommendations are excellent. I would add one more
to this list of wonderful recordings, Karl Leister and the Amadeus Quartet.
The last time I checked it was still available as a multiple cd set of
Brahm's chamber music. Another recording worth investigating (although I
have not heard it) is the Mitchell Lurie recording. I heard Lurie play the
2nd movement at a memorial concert and it was stunning! Anyone know this
recording. Opinions?
