I am considering the purchase of a used Leblanc LL that is currently being
overhauled. Has anyone owned one of these and if so, what is your opinion?
This one is going for $1100.00 New, the sugg. retail is $2500.00 which is
why I am considering a used one. I will get to play it this weekend. You
may reply to my address at Reedman2@-----. Thanks!

Whoa there cowboy! Buy mine! I really like it and use it for practice when I
travel. But for that price I can be forced to give it up!

This is a true cylindrical bore instrument that has many wonderful qualities.
Resale value is not one of them. I traded an Edgeware Boosey & Hawkes plus
$125 for a 1969 LL in perfect (practically unused) condition with silver keys
no less. This was about a $625 value. Overhaul was needed.

The sound in the Chalemeau register is far more interesting to these ears
than the typical R13. The lowest notes do not have the same sound as an R13
in a way I don't like. Make sure you try the Vandoren B45 dot with this
instrument (or Kaspar mouthpieces) as these bore dimensions match well.
