On a little aside, I made my own clarinet case (double) to suit my own
needs - be as small and light as possible, and keep my clarinets as warm
as possible in Canadian winters.
I left the finish as wood -mahogany - and it looks quite nice. It
keeps the intsruments many times warmer than my selmer cases ever did,
and while isn't light weight, it's not any heavier than any other case.
It certainly attracts a lot of attention from other clarinettists when
they see it.

If there is a market for this type of "custom made" cases, then I could
make them to order. And I'm sure I could do better than the $500
mentionned. Out of curiosity, what are the features one looks for in a
case, and, how many people actually buy a case? (Rather than the one
that comes with the instrument)
