I have a quick question. I'm playing on a really stuffy old moennig
(sp?) A and with the reeds that I use for my Bb it sounds really nasty.
Anyway, I've fixed the problem by a) using by Bb barrel on the A and b)
shaving my reeds, here's the question:

My reeds look like this (pardon my ascii art)

After I shave them they look like this:

Like that but to less extremes, it allows by sound to be more focused and
makes it sound as if I don't have to blow a gasket to play the instrument.

Here's my question: Is that wrong? I've never heard of doing this but
maybe I haven't been paying attention that well (very possible). It
seems to do nothing but good things for me, thanks :)
