Gary -

Perhaps you should replace your register tube. I did this after
purchasing my Buffet A about 2 years ago, in Guy Chadash's workshop. i
tried several lengths out, I believe the one that the factory places in
the new instrument is too long (although it could be the other way - I
always get confused), and finally found one that I liked. In doing this,
as Guy pointed out to me, you have to be careful the twelfths are in tune,
otherwise the tube is not right.

BTW - I think that you can order them, maybe from Muncy - and try out
several on your own but just popping the tube out if you feel comfortable
with that, and then take your favorite to your repair guy.
