I think that barrels, like mouthpiece/reed/lig setups, are really a =
matter of individual preferences based on many variables, and what's =
best for one person may not be so for another. So the only way to really =
be sure is to walk into a store, try them, and decide for yourself if =
it's worth $100 or whatever astronomical rate is being charged now. But =
for the record, my own favorite is the Buffet barrel that came with my =
E-13. I don't know if this is the "Buffet" to which you refer or if =
they've come out with something new, but a couple of years ago I tried =
whatever "hot new barrels" were out at the time (I can't even remember =
brand names, that's how little impression they made on me), and nothing =
was superior in either tone or intonation to my Buffet. But that's me, =
and you may find just the opposite.
