I'm sure many of you on this list will have answers and opinions on
barrels. I previously had only thought of the barrel as the
connecting piece between the mouthpiece and upper joint, and the point
of tuning. However after perusing the Weiner catalogue, I was amazed
to see a number of expensive barrels with various claims. So.....what
are the differences between the Buffet, the Moennig, and the Chadash
barrels? Do they really make a difference in tone quality and/or
intonation, and if so are they worth spending $100. I'm interested in
everyone's opinions, and I've observed that on this list many people
offer them!
