The Festival includes classes,masterclasses ,profesors and students
concerts and the "International Competition" for winds , piano and chambe=

will be provides during the closing concert on August 1, 1997. Exhibition=

All candidates must enclose: the application form, Curriculum Vitae (
individual and from the group), and the detail of trhee pieces ( or
mouvements of pieces) chosen for the course, for applying admition.The

" II BUENOS AIRES INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION"

We are pleased to invite all the winds and saxophones soloists and any
Chamber Music ensembles, regerdless of nationality,sex and age, to
participate in this competition.

FIRST PRIZE:

WINDS SOLOIST COMPETITION : one concert in Paris, France with the "
Sinfonietta de Paris" at the Madeleine Church, and one concert with the "=

San Juan Simphony Orchestra " in Argentina.

PIANO COMPETITION:

- CONCERT LEVEL: one concert in Paris and one concert at the " Sal=DBn
Dorado del Teatro Col=DBn de Buenos Aires"

- MEDIUM LEVEL: one concert in Buenos AIres.

CHAMBER MUSIC COMPETITION : one concert at the " Sal=DBn Dorado del Teatr=
o
Col=DBn de Buenos Aires"

LEVELS OF COMPETITION: There are three levels of competition:

a-PRELIMINARY STAGE: All entrants must send a completed aplication form, =
a
Festival fee as Participants( if they will take classes) or Auditors( if
only desire to participate in the competition) drawn against a US bank, a=
nd
a Cassette tape containing one barroque or
clasical piece, one romantic or modern piece and one chamber or string
orchestra concerto for their instrument. The piano and Chamber music tape=

should include three pieces of different styles.The tape should be around=

45 min. long.To be considered all aplication materials must be received b=
y
or before june 20.

b- SEMIFINAL STAGE: Up to 20 semifinalists will be selected by the
competition comitee,with results announced by June 25,1997.
If selected for the semifinal all aplicants must agree to appear and
perform in the semifinal in Buenos Aires during the Festival,July
30-31,1997. The semifinal round will be heard by a distinguished panel
of judges. Repertoire of the semifinal round will be the same as that the=

preliminary round tape. A professional accompanist will be provided for t=
he
foreing contestants, however , at their own expense , contestants may ele=
ct
to use an accompanist of their own choosing.

WINDS SOLOIST :
An Argentinian piece will be mailed to all the contestans on June 23. One=

movement of this piece should be played during the semifinal round.
PIANO:
Medium Level: two Cirandas by Hector Villa Lobos should be played
during the semifinal round Concert Level: two Cirandas by Hector Villa

c- FINAL STAGE-: Up to 5 finalists will be selected by the competition
committee. If selected for the final, all aplicantsmust agree to apear an=
d
perform in the final round.
It will be heard for the complited panel of judges: Prof. Gustavo Nu=D2ez=
(
Venezuela), Prof. Ljubisa
Jovanovic ( Belgrad ), Prof. Patricia Kostek ( Canad@-----. Noel Devos=
(
France), Prof. Lazlo Hadady (Hungary ), The Argentinian composer Salvador=

Ranieri, Maestro Alberto Merenzon ( Argentina), Maestro
Dominique Fanal ( France) and the Festival Artistic Director: Andrea Mere=
nzon.
The final round will be in July 31 and August 1 in an open concert and
repertoire should include a Chamber Orchestra concerto for the finalist
winds instrument and a piano solo piece for the piano competition. The
desision of the judges is final , The judges may elect to award fewer
prizes than outlined above or no prizes. The winner of the soloist
competition will
agree to perform in San juan In August 8 1997. The courses and the
competition are independents. The contestants don't
have the obligation to participate in the Festival classes, but it is
obligatory to be registred as auditor.

Spetial prize :
The "IRCO" prize will be provide for the best latinamerican piece perform=
ance.
