I used to think that. Till I tried the Grand Concert Thick Blank which
worked really well with my setup. I still have 15 boxes of regular
Vandoren's from the mid 80's that I have not used because when the V-12's
came out, they were the best thing out then. I don't like the V-12 sound -
to me it is bright/thin sounding compared to the Regular Vandoren, or the
Grand Concert. Of course, that's only my opinion (IMHO).
