Which one? Mendelssohn himself wrote 49 "Songs Without Words." Or, at
least he published 49 of them, but some of them apparently were written by
his sister, Fanny Mendelssohn Hendel.

Or maybe you are referring to the Rachmaninov "Vocalise" about which we
were conversing recently?
