We have both Finale and Encore, among other programs, installed on all the
computers available to our music students for these purposes, and all of
them are IBM clones. (The computers that is, not the students! ;-) )

Mac's share of the market is now down to about 10% - 12% or so, and
dwindling. On our campus, many students have their own computers, but in
addition, there are 8 computer labs on campus - 7 IBM, 1 Mac. When the
University supplied computers to all faculty members, we had a choice.
Over 80% chose IBM.

Once you get a program like Encore or Finale launched, it is not very
apparent which operating system you are using. I don't think you need to
feel inferior.
