Hello Jonathan,
Well, to put it simply, I went from a Hite D mouthpiece to a
Vandoren B45 Lyre mouthpiece. The Vandoren B45 Lyre is more open in the
sense that (not necessarily tone wise) it is more "free blowing".
Another advantage is that it takes out the stuffiness when you play at a
pianissimo.
Jonathan Cohler (also on this list) helped me make this change
and he may be one of the other people to contact about this "issue".
